Vial of Tea from Boston Tea Party

Thomas Melvill was a young merchant who had just returned from Scotland when he participated in the "Boston Tea Party".

The tea in this vial was said to have been collected from his shoes after that historic night. The vial was handed down in the family for generations before it was donated to the collection of the Bostonian society in 1899.

Is this tea truly Tea from the "Boston Tea Party"? The Melvill family certainty believed it was, but in the end there is no way to be sure. What do you think?
