This is the coat of arms that used to sit above the door of the Province House, the home of the Royal Governor. 

Note the images of the lion and unicorn on the coat of arms. A lion is a symbol for England and a unicorn is a symbol for Scotland. You'll see these symbols around the museum, and even on it. The lion and unicorn reproduction statues on top of our building are from the year 1881, when this building became a museum.
